Writing to make the connection.

"The inspiration for my writing comes from my desire to understand the people and the world around me. If we are brave enough to share our narratives - the successes along with the shame -  we can deliver ourselves to a place of acceptance and love."

MEMOIR

Writing has always been my passion, my childhood dream. During a busy tech career, I always had a nagging feeling I wasn't doing what I really should do. Over the years I would write a page or two a month which left me wanting more.

Two years ago, I quit my technology career to write full-time. Actually, to write part-time if you include a busy house with three children. I wrote many useless pages until I decided to write my mother's memoir. A tragic and beautiful story she shared with me in colorful vignettes throughout my life.

What I didn't realize was that the process of sharing her story became a journey of self-discovery. In understanding my mother's life experience, I have come to better understand who I am.

This website is my journey, shared with others. My hope is that by sharing my story and the process of publishing my book, I will inspire others to make the connection between who your mother is and who you are.

Compassionate Writing
Writing requires compassion. Writers not only need to show tenderness for the characters and people they write about but compassion for themselves through the creative process.
